I'm sorry, I didn't see this post. But thank you for your response. I felt that if it was based on Kelly's dress, it was a poor interpretation. You know, I think that there was a chance here to really revolutionize the contemporary wedding dress. It ended up looking very "Disney/Barbie". My mother said, "Why did she wear white when they've been living together all this time? I laughed at first, but I realized she has a valid point. White is so cliche and why hasn't fashion turned its back on the white wedding dress years ago, I have no idea. I don't know Kate Middleton's perimeters in choosing her dress, but looking at some of the beautiful antique dresses that you've posted, I think it a shame that there seemed to be no objectivity given in picking out the dress.
I’m glad I’m not the only person who thought so! I mean, when you’re quite literally marrying Prince Charming, why on earth would you want to wear someone else’s dress?
I was thinking that it would be upgraded significantly from pretty but boring with some embroidery on the train and sleeves kind of like the court trains of the 19th century but in the color scheme of this mantua. Not enough to distract from the traditional whiteness of the dress, but enough to set yourself up as your own princess. But that’s just what I would have done.
Anyway I’ve said all that I can say about the subject, so discussion of the dress is closed!
Tell me, what did you think of Kate's dress?
