War bonnets like this one are worn by warriors and chiefs, and are hard-earned badges of heroism and prestige.  So it’s not cool to wear one to a party (or anywhere else) saying “LOL I’m an Indian.”  Unless you are an actual Sioux warrior, in which case you can wear one wherever you want.  Otherwise, it’s a bit like wearing blackface to a party (or anywhere else) and saying “LOL I’m a Negro.”  That and the whole genocide thing.
