Whoa, Julian Fellowes said American's can't do period drama? We don't have the right sense of history? I guess he hasn't seen John Adams from HBO (thirteen Emmys and four Golden Globes) or Titanic (eleven Oscars) or Amadeus (eight Oscars and four Golden Globes). Yeah, Amadeus is historically inaccurate with Mozart and Salieri's relationship, but it sure is DRAMATIC. Grr, that makes me angry.

  6. myeyestoserve said: I think American actors do have a hard time of it, generally. The accents they come up with (which, I suppose, are not technically their fault) sound so affected and out of place with me. Can’t all English film go back to a nice transatlantic accent?
